Urban development ministry sets up swanky gym for staff
While taking care of the country’s cities, ministry of urban development is also trying to take care of health of its officials by setting up a gymnasium within the premises of Nirman Bhawan, where the ministry operates from.
“Physical fitness is key to health and mental fitness which have a bearing on productivity. Such facilities at workplaces would go a long way in keeping employees fit in fast paced and sedentary lives. I would expect employees to make proper use of the facility,” said Venkaiah Naidu, minister for urban development, during the inauguration of the workout spot.
“The ministry, which has about 500 employees, is the first to have such full-fledged workout facility,” the government said on Wednesday.
The gymnasium will be open after office hours till 8pm.
